Athlone Sub-Aqua club carried out its first recovery of a missing person from the River Shannon in 1975 in Carrick on Shannon. Since then the club has responded to many incidents in the midlands area. Athlone Sub-Aqua CLub also provides safety cover for many water based activities in Athlone.

In our search & recovery page we explain some of the activities that we have to carry out and all of this specialist training and equipment and what we have to do. All our members are volunteers who give up their free time to carry out this training.

The people of Athlone and wider midlands area have always supported Athlone Sub-Aqua club and what we do.

We have our usual church gate and on street collections and now our annual calendar but we are always looking for some new ideas and ways to fund-raise!
